This is the best part of having a blog....... arguing with your partner. I have a slightly different take on the Bird's 2012 season.
Week 1- I agree it's the Browns, I mean it's the Browns. Win
Week 2- With an aging defense and Terrell Suggs achilles blown, and an offense with an incompetent offensive coordinator in Cam Cameron, also I see the Eagles winning there home opener. Win
Week 3- Arizona is a bad football team, whether it is Skelton or Kolb does it really matter, while it is tough going out west, I see a third victory. Win
Week 4- The reigning Super Bowl champs come into town for a nationally televised, Sunday night showdown, since 2008 the Eagles and Giant have played each other 9 times, since 08' the Eagles are 7-2. The Giants won't get have any luck in this game and the birds prevail and prevail big, making a statement, starting the season 4-0.
Week 5- In the battle of Pennsylvania the Eagles run into a big tough quarterback in Big Ben, but Ben doesn't have the best of offensive lines and who the hell is running the ball there Isaac Redman, Wallace is going to struggle in the first half of the season after missing all of camp and I see the Eagles winning this game with a late field goal to get to 5-0 and head in to an offensive shoot-out with the Detriot Lions.
Week 6- The Eagles can triple team, quadruple team Calvin Johnson, it doesn't make a difference he is going to get his, and Brandon Pettigrew can make plays and don't sleep on Titus Young (kids a burner ask my buddy Desorte). While the Eagles can score as well I don't seen them being able to keep pace with this offense. Going into the bye the Eagles suffer their first lost.
That's right I have them going into the bye 5-1 and at this point all Eagles fans with be sticking out there chests saying its about time, I knew it all along.
Week 8- I don't care who they play coming out of the bye under Big Red the Eagles don't lose and they should have beaten Atlanta last year, even with Vick going down in that game. After the game Andy admitted he didn't give Kafka a real chance to win the game, he limited the game plan, and they lost the game. Well not this year, Vick gets his payback against Atlanta at home and the Eagles get to 6-1.
Week 9- Well it's Monday night and were ready to strike...... oh that's right Hank Williams Jr is a bigot and no longer sings the Monday night football theme. Anyway the Eagles come into N'awlins, flying high, but Drew Brees and the Saints they don't care and get into a shootout with the Eagles and once again this doesn't workout for the Eagles. They fall to the Saints in a high scoring affair.6-2
Week 10- The Eagles come back home and on a short work week they face the Cowboys, alright despite the fact that I hate the Cowboys they have a good squad and they could win this game, ha i tried to be slightly unbiased here but I decided I don't need to be Eagles win and they win big. 7-2.
Week 11- This is the first time the Eagles will see Bob as Usi in NY calls him, I kind of like the Bob reference so I'm stealing it, that being said Shanahan should have stayed retired because so far this Redskins experiment is no good and with Dan Synder still overpaying for average talent, I see the Eagles winning big in DC. 8-2 Boom
Week 12- The Carolina Panthers come into town for a Monday game, Cam is a beast, I agree with Brett, but he has some other weapons, Greg Olsen isn't a bad tight end and they do have a solid group of running backs, and from what I have seen of Brandon LaFell, he could be a viable weapon. With all that being said, I don't feel they game stop the Eagles offense, Eagles win this by 2 touchdowns. 9-2 and looking for a bye
Week 13- Another prime time game in Dallas and the Eagles get a little payback for that beat down a couple weeks ago and beat the Eagles on a late Murray touchdown. 9-3 still in control
Week 14- At the New Sombrero and the Bucs. The Bucs with a new coach and some new offensive weapons, still have a bad defense as they have wasted a bunch of picks of d-linemen that haven't panned out. Coming off a loss the Eagles roll Tampa Bay. 10-3
Week 15- This is a real tough game Cincy is tough and playing them on a short week, I have a bad feeling they lose this game, I like Dalton and Green and just think the Eagles struggle to get up for this game. They lose this one disappointingly with a late pick by Mike to seal the win for the Bengals. 10-4
Week 16- The Redskins are in town and the Eagles are pissed because they are in a race with Green bay for home field and a top seed in the NFC. They make a statement sacking Bob 7 times and scoring on defense. The Eagles win big heading into the last game of the season. 11-4
Week 17- In the final game of the year normally starters sit, not in this game Andy wants the bye and home field and buts a beat down in NY on the Giants, Eagles win bye 17 and the starters get that rest in the 4th quarter. Eagles finish the regular season 12-4 and are the number one team in the NFC
I know people are going to read this and think I'm nuts, hey maybe I am but Vegas must be nuts too they only have the Birds as dogs in 3 games. I am saying they have a game wrong and they lose 4. Now like Brett, I agree these picks are barring there is no injuries. And who know they could totally just blow, I mean they do have a defensive coordinator who was an o-line coach, but they do have one of the best coaches in the NFL in Andy Reid. I could change picks throughout the year but for now, I am sticking with these. Feel free to agree or blow me out.

Eagles 2012 Schedule- My predictions
(Haha, found this on yahoo images)
I have been talking Eagles football non-stop for the last 2 weeks. I can’t wait for this season to start. Here is my prediction for the Eagles season, week by week.
Week 1- Away game against the Cleveland Browns- WIN, enough said. WIN
Week 2- Home game verse the Baltimore Ravens- I am going to have to with a win on this one. First game at the Linc, it will be a close one, but I have a feeling the Birds can pull it off. WIN
Week 3- Away game verses the Arizona Cardinals- This should be a no brainer. I mean the Cardinals don’t even know who their starting QB is yet.WIN
Week 4- Home game against the New York Giants- I am going to chalk this one up as a loss. Most likely Vick will be hurt by game 4 and Foles will be getting his first play as a rookie, and it will be against the reigning Super Bowl champs. LOSS
So at the quarter mark I have the Eagles going 3-1, not bad.
Week 5- Away game verses the Pittsburg Steelers- Another loss here. Should be another close game but Steelers at home with two evenly matched teams; I’ll give them the win. LOSS
Week 6-At home verses the Detroit Lions- This game is not going to be as close as you think. The Eagles should take his one big a good 10 points. Just cover Calvin Johnson and the birds will be fine. WIN
Week 7- Bye week and I am sure Vick is going to need it.
Week 8- Home against the Atlanta Falcons- This should be another close game, and I’ll give it to the Eagles on this one. At home with two evenly matched teams, and let’s be honest, Andy Reid is pretty damn good after the bye week. Win for the Eagles. WIN
Week 9- Away game verses the New Orleans Saints- Once again two teams that look to be evenly matched in the beginning of the season. Who knows what either team will look like when this game is played in November. I will give this one to the Saints. Even though they have had such problems this off-season with bounty gate and they have no one to coach the team. When you have Drew Brees as your QB, it doesn’t take much more to win a game. LOSS
Week 10- Home game verses the Dallas Cowboys. 2 words: Eagles win! WIN
Week 11- At the Washington Redskins- By week 11, RG3 will have some NFL experience and he will most likely be a threat to any team he faces. However, this is still the same old Skins of every year, and with the Eagles D ends being who they are, RG3 can’t run around everyone. Win for the Birds! WIN
Week 12- Home game against the Cam Newton’s…I mean the Carolina Panthers. Yes, he’s a good QB, but they don’t have much else. An aging Steve Smith should have a decent year like always, still not enough to beat the Eagles. WIN
Week 13-Away game against the Dallas Cowboys- I will be fair here. Cowboys win this one in what is a close game on their home field. LOSS
Week 14- On the road verse the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. To be honest, I haven’t paid much attention the Bucc’s this off-season. Josh Freeman is a solid QB and Vincent Jackson is always a threat every season. The defense should be good. Ronde Barber moved back to safety and a few new talented CB’s, but I do not see them beating the Eagles. WIN
Week 15- A nice home game in the cold months of December against the Cincinnati Bengals. Andy Dalton and A.J Green won’t be enough to win it for them. Chalk it up as another win for the Eagles. WIN
Week 16- The Washington Redskins come to Lincoln Financial Field. That just means another loss for the Redskins. WIN
Week 17- Away game up at Giant stadium.- I would like to think that the Birds could win this game, it all depends on who is playing for both teams. Who has already clinched a spot, are they fighting for first place or a wildcard position. Either way I will give it the Giants. They always seem to play well towards the end of the season. For example their 2 Super bowl wins. 2 very mediocre seasons, and then some how they turn it on when it matters most and beat teams who had much better records than they did. Oh well, I can’t complain, that’s how sports works. LOSS
So in the end, I have the Eagles finishing the season with an 11-5 record. Maybe a bit optimistic, but they do have a good team. Even if Vick goes down ( more likely when) I will feel confident in Foles. As long as he doesn’t lose the game for the team, than they should be fine. Just hand the ball off to the best running back in the league.
A few games there could be close. The birds could lose to the Ravens, that was a very hard one to pick, and the game verse the Saints they could win, again another tough one to choose. The Giants games they could win, but let’s be honest here, the Giants are the luckiest team in sports so that is why I am giving them the wins.
Alright so that is my predication as of now for the up-coming Eagles season. It will most likely change week to week though depending on who is hurt and who is healthy.
What are your thoughts?

Looking forward to getting into some good sports debates with all of my friends. It will give me something to do while I am banging my head against my desk all day.

Upcoming Birds Season
As I sit here and watch the Phils play in what is all but meaningless
baseball, I realize that a week from now baseball will no longer really matter
to me until Spring Training 2013. As sad
as I am to know there will be no October baseball for the Phils, I am pumped
for this upcoming football season. Next Wednesday is the official kickoff
of the upcoming NFL season. It kind of
hit me over the weekend, as I was flipping between High School football games
on ESPN and ESPN 2, I can’t wait for football. I have College Football kicking
off this weekend, all leading up to next Wednesday night. This upcoming Eagles season has the potential
to be something special. Mychal
Kendricks has looked like a beast, flying around the field and just being a
ball hawk. In several interviews Mychal
has stated that he is going to make people pay for allowing him to slip into
the second round of the draft and from what I have seen of the field already, I
believe him. It also seemed in the last
pre-season game against the Browns ( I’m aware it’s the Browns) that Demeco
Ryans was finally starting to get a feel for the defense, as he was flowing to
the ball and coming off of blocks pretty well.
While the defensive line like looks stacked, the play of these two linebackers
is going to play a major role in the success of this defense. The Eagles haven’t had a pair like this since
2001 when Trotter was playing Mike and Emmons was the Sam. It has been since 2001 that Eagles have put
any amount of emphasis on the linebacker position, and from early indications
they may have actually gotten it right.
There are tons of other questions of this team like, Will Nnamdi rebound
from a down season, Who of the second round draft picks is going to be a
serviceable safety, How can anyone replace Jason Peters’ shoes and Is Mike Vick
actually going to be able to stay healthy enough to lead this team to a Super
Bowl? Even with all that I can’t wait
for football. Let me know what is your
biggest question for this upcoming Eagles season?
